The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing Sales Tax and Federal Excise returns for February 2025 until March 27, 2025.

The decision was officially communicated to Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue, including officials from Large Taxpayers Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers Office (MTO), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs).

According to the instructions issued on Monday, the FBR exercised its authority under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, to grant this extension. Previously, the deadline was set for March 18, 2025, but it has now been extended to provide additional time for taxpayers to meet compliance requirements.
