FBR Kicks Off Transformation Plan with Major Structural Changes

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially begun executing its transformation plan, reshuffling key positions and altering the reporting structure of its members and director generals. The FBR issued a formal notification on Wednesday to announce the changes.
As part of this transformation, FBR has merged, re-designated, and realigned several high-level posts. Notably, the positions of Member (Information Technology) and Member (Digital Initiatives) have been combined into the newly created Director General (Information Technology and Digital Transformation). This new DG will now report to the Member Inland Revenue (Operations).
Further changes include re-designating the post of Member (Public Relations) as Member (Taxpayers Services) and Member (Accounting) as Member (Organizational Audit). Additionally, the Director General (Revenue Analysis) will report to Member (IR-Policy), and the Director General, Internal Audit (IR), will report to the newly renamed Member (Organizational Audit).
These structural shifts are a part of FBR’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and improve organizational efficiency.
