ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the successful and timely completion of the 37-month International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
During a meeting with the IMF’s newly appointed Resident Representative for Pakistan, Mahir Binici, in Islamabad on Thursday, the Finance Minister emphasized that the programme represents Pakistan’s own agenda for macroeconomic reforms and structural adjustments.
Aurangzeb highlighted the government’s determination, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to maintain the trust and credibility regained over the past 14 months. He stressed that these efforts are crucial for paving the way toward inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
The Finance Minister warmly welcomed Mahir Binici to Pakistan and assured him of full support in carrying out his responsibilities, facilitating smooth consultations with the government on programme implementation.
Mahir Binici expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Government of Pakistan to ensure the successful completion of the IMF programme.
